Manual Controlled Tester
'O' Rings
Before each day's use: Remove 'O' ring assembly and clean residue off of hub, wheel, and all contact surfaces.
Experience has taught us that if the 'O' ring wheel DOESN'T revolve freely, then the cycle reading could be off as much as 25%.
The 'O' Rings for this lab equipment are of a special analysis.
They should be replaced when they show signs of wear on the periphery or start to show age cracking, or at least every 6 months.
Comments on this equipment are strongly solicited.
Note: We advocate that the 'O' ring should be removed from its mounting when not being used for an extended length of time. It does take a stretch.
For shipment purposes, we ship Tester with 'O' ring on its mounting, which could be thrown away. There are 3 extra ones to be found stuck onto the top end of vertical shaft which should be removed before using machine.
When mounting 'O' rings on tester, use 3 or 4 fingers to roll the 'O' ring onto the taper mount and onto the wheel so as not to have a bump in the periphery of the 'O' ring. Correct bumps if you can; bumps show up on surface gage readings.
A check for above would be to lower the 'O' ring assembly onto a strip of paper supported by box anvil and pulling paper by hand and observing indicator. A variation of .002" or .003" is not too bad.
